A student from our laboratory presented research at the 20th International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ICSMGE 2025) held in Sydney, Australia, from January 6-10, 2025.

Presentation Details

Title: “Numerical Analysis of Pile Foundation Behavior in Liquefiable Ground During Earthquakes”

Authors: 〇〇 〇〇, Professor Name, 〇〇 〇〇

This research investigated in detail the behavior of pile foundations in liquefiable ground using effective stress analysis, and clarified the relationship between the bending moment distribution of piles and the deformation characteristics of the ground. The validity of the proposed analysis method was demonstrated through comparison with geotechnical centrifuge test results.

Outcomes

The presentation received numerous questions and comments from geotechnical researchers from around the world, with particularly active discussions on the practical application of liquefaction countermeasures. This was a valuable opportunity that will contribute to the future development of our research.

During the conference, we were able to grasp the latest trends in geotechnical engineering research and build international networks.
