Laboratory Overview
Our laboratory (Department of Urban Infrastructure and Environment, School of Urban Environmental Sciences / Urban Infrastructure and Environment Program, Graduate School of Urban Environmental Sciences, Tokyo Metropolitan University) conducts a wide range of research in geotechnical engineering and soil mechanics, from fundamental studies to practical applications. We aim to build safe and sustainable infrastructure by investigating seismic ground behavior, liquefaction phenomena, and seismic ground deformation assessment using spatial information technologies.
Vision
We strive to contribute to the realization of a safe society resilient to natural disasters by integrating theory and practice in geotechnical engineering. In Japan, a country prone to earthquakes, a deep understanding of ground behavior and innovative technological development are essential. We are committed to training the next generation of geotechnical engineers and researchers who can contribute to society.
